About the author

I am a young mum to 3 beautiful daughters, originally from Sydney, Australia - now living in country NSW with my partner of over 10 years and our girls.

4. Make It Happen

Jordanna gives the rundown on her method for how to bring your dream life into reality. It’s actually a lot closer than we think! So many of us quickly dismiss the ability for us to live the life we want, and this book breaks it down and makes it easy to do if you commit to the process. I love how much she really believes in you, and helps you see that you have already got everything that it takes to life the life you truly want to live.

7. Feel Good Productivity

With 5 million YouTube subs and counting (maybe it’s 6 now?) this book is so crucial because it is all about productivity that feels good. Ali started off as a medical student and then fully licensed doctor who started his YouTube channel and a tutorial business all at the same time, so safe to say he’s got productivity downpat. But the thing I love most? The feel good part. For so long I hustled and neglected so many other parts of my life, so this book is a must-read to get sh** done without burning yourself out.

2. You Are A Badass

This book is one-of-a-kind! Jen Sincero pretty much grabs you by the shoulders and gives you a big shake up in this book! She comes to you as a friend and completely snaps you out of it. If you feel stuck or flat, like you’re living Groundhog Day watching everyone else happily enjoy their life (or so it seems), and you don’t know where to start but you know there must be a better way, this book is for you. Jen is so funny, she’s so friendly, so encouraging and honestly? Just plain real. She’s deep, without being deep, if that makes sense. This book is so refreshing, it’s one you might enjoy reading whenever you feel like you need to remember the big picture again. It is an iconic read in the personal development world.

1. The Energy Bus

This book was probably one of the first personal development books I read, which I think was a really good place to start looking back. As the title suggests, it is all about your ENERGY. Not in a manifesting, law of attraction type way - simply in a way that talks about being a good team player and how your energy affects other people and how your life plays out in general. I will admit I was a pretty bad negative Nancy back in the day, and this book helped me to learn that it’s really so important to have a good energy in life. If you always feel down and crappy, it’s a great place to start!

3. You Are A Badass At Making Money

If there is ONE book you want to read this year, make it this one!! Jen Sincero is absolutely hilarious, and this book is nothing about budgeting or finance advice. Instead, it’s about your relationship with money - which blew my mind. For example, a task Jen gives you is to write a love letter to money. When you actually sit down and do it, it’s crazy what comes out on paper! The way we think about money 99% of the time is so frikken negative. Always stressed about money, never having enough, wondering why we can never have more of it - like a red flag boy in our love life! This book is a must-read for anybody and everybody.

8. The Bedtime Journal

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt about changing my own life and my own mind, it’s the thoughts we have are that bloody important honestly. I am definitely guilty of scrolling right before bed, but overall, I try not to. Instead I try to focus on how I’m feeling and the thoughts running around through my head. I do often find myself waking up with anxious thoughts or fears of self-doubt about whether I will have a good day or even do enough to start changing my life, so the biggest hack to that is going to sleep with a good mindset. The bedtime journal is the perfect guided journal to help you reset and get a clearer mind!

5. Make You Happen

I think what I absolutely love about this book is that Jordanna really helps you look at your own qualities and worth, that will allow you to achieve your dreams. A lot of the time, we are looking for external validation and motivation, when really, everything we need is already inside ourselves. If we spend our lives chasing external things, we can get out of alignment and do things that really aren’t meant for us. This is why you see people have mid-life crises. Whereas if you truly appreciate your own qualities and know your worth and what you’re all about, you can use them to choose the right path in what you pursue in your life! So truly incredible.

6. The Gap And The Gain

Have you ever achieved something in your life, only to feel flat like you still haven’t done enough, or should be straight onto the next thing? This is an incredible book that I truly believe will change my life as I continue to keep implementing it. Pretty much, when we have goals in our lives, whether it’s to do with small things in our personal lives or to do with work or study or anything we’re doing, we tend to look out forward into the horizon to go after it. But - news flash: we never actually achieve it! Or if we do, we’re usually immediately onto the next thing. That is why we often don’t feel great in our every day lives. This is because we’re usually not just chasing goals, but “ideals”, and this is what the authors call being in the gap. Whereas, if we try to get in the habit of looking at just how far we have come, our “gains” so far, this will actually allow us to celebrate our wins and inspire us to keep moving forward instead of feeling exhausted by it. Legit life-changing!!
