6 Steps To A Spring Bedroom Refresh

I’ve been looking forward to spring for a while now! Our just-turned 8 week old was born in the last month of winter, so I knew that come spring time, I’d be happy to be no longer pregnant and I could be out of the newborn stage and getting into the cleaning I put off while heavily pregnant!! So, I wanted to share some of the ways I am going about a bedroom refresh this spring 🥰

I’ve been looking forward to spring for a while now! Our just-turned 8 week old was born in the last month of winter, so I knew that come spring time, I’d be happy to be no longer pregnant and I could be out of the newborn stage and getting into the cleaning I put off while heavily pregnant!!

So, I wanted to share some of the ways I am going about a bedroom refresh this spring, because I’ve moved rooms to share with our new baby, and I’ve also refreshed the girls rooms as they get bigger! Molly has just outgrown her cot, and it’s time to make things feel nice and new again.

1. Take the time and make a plan
Don’t just jump in and start emptying cupboards! Grab a cup of tea and your laptop, open a new word document and map out your refresh plan first. Break it down for yourself so you can face it easier and know it’ll take time - it could be a bit of a process. Think of this as a yearly refresh. No need to rush it!

2. Use linen bags to put old clothes into
Don’t overthink it, you don’t have to throw out clothes! I am obsessed with these zip up linen storage bags at the moment, for items that I love but know I’m not wearing right now. They help to section off parts of your wardrobe and make it more categorised.

3. Empty one shelf of your wardrobe at a time, and make piles of keep vs store vs throw.
Again - take your time! Empty a shelf, use your linen storage bags, and wipe out one shelf at a time before replacing items back in that you’re currently wearing.
Create a new home for random piles of things! Eg diaries and books. One of the best things I ever did was actually use a designated shelf in my wardrobe for my diaries, planners and books. Everything needs a home! So anything that is sitting around randomly, time to find a home for it.

4. Wipe down detailed surfaces that need attention
By this I mean the lamps, the bedside table, window sills, window glass etc. Pretty much all the spots that gather dust and spider webs throughout the year that you only notice with your glasses on (guilty!), but you don’t realise are actually making the room feel slightly dirty.

5. Treat yourself!!
After all that cleaning you did, go out and buy something NEW - add a little something that represents this year! It’s one thing to clean, but adding something new will create that sparkly fresh feeling!

Here's a few of my fave picks for some inspo:

Sandy ceramic lamp
Stone table lamp
Ceramic vase
Calming wall art illustration (prints)

And if you don't have one already - having an Alexa in your room as your own PA is honestly life changing. We have 3 in our home and I still want more (lol)! She's a smart speaker so you can ask her anything, as well as playing music with really high-quality sound. Check her out here.

Sending good vibes only,
